Claire’s Knee

Fair warning: this movie is about a grown man lusting after a teen. As I said to my partner beforehand, we choose to overlook that for the impeccable vibes of a south of France lake summer. On this watch, I was struck by how much of the moral grossness was spurred on by a crazy older woman. Rohmer’s six moral tales aren’t ever like great movies stories wise but boy did that man know how to plop you into the middle of summer. Will make you wonderfully sleepy like you’ve been out in the sun all day.
